When did the Dojo start?
The Shotokan Karate Dojo opened its doors in May of 2014.
Is the Dojo affiliated with any martial arts organizations?
The Dojo is affiliated with the Independent Karate Schools of America, the National Karate Jujitsu Federation, and the U.S. Shinote Kyokai.

Is competition required to attend or advance in rank?
No. Many of the students compete in karate tournaments. However, competition is not required to participate at the dojo and it is not required to advance in rank.
How much does it cost?
The first month is $65 and that will include the uniform. After the first month, the cost is $45 per month. There are family rates for students from the same household.
When are the classes?
Please call in order to be placed in a class. At this time we are trying to keep the classes small.
What ages are you taking?At this time, ages 7 and over are accepted.
How long does it take to get a black belt?
It can take anywhere from 3 to 5 years or more to earn a black belt. This depends a lot on how much you practice and come to class. It should be noted that there is an age requirement for black belt.
Does Karate make children violent?

How often are classes?
Classes are two days a week. There are Monday-Wednesday classes, and Tuesday-Thursday classes.
